Recently I came across Alvin’s story and felt it is an inspirational story that I’d like to share with you.

Canadian born Alvin Law is a casualty of the infamous morning sickness medication, Thalidomide. Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. It became apparent in the 1960s that thalidomide treatment resulted in severe birth defects in thousands of children. Adding to his misfortune, just five days after his birth his family abandoned him in the hospital in the care of a social worker.

Alvin hasn’t let his disability set him back; he is a certified speaking professional, a best-selling author, won an Emmy for a short film aired on ABC in the US and even played a role on the hit series, X-Files.

So often we let our struggles get in our way to pursue our dreams and interests, hopefully his story will offer you inspiration as he has already provided for millions of people around the world.

Below are presentations of his story.
