For drummers who want the look and feel of a real drum kit with the flexibility of electronic drumming, the new Gretsch Catalina EVO brings the best of both worlds together. With full-size shells, a familiar acoustic-style setup, responsive playing surfaces, and the unmistakable character of Gretsch Drums, Catalina EVO feels right at home behind the kit. Whether practicing at home, playing along to favorite tracks, or performing live, it delivers an intuitive, natural playing experience that puts the focus where it belongs: on the music.
At the heart of Catalina EVO are high-resolution samples of carefully selected Gretsch drums, including USA Custom, Brooklyn, and Broadkaster kits. Extensive velocity layers, round-robin sampling, selectable microphone layers, and additional snare-bottom and subkick microphones capture the character, depth, and dynamics of these iconic instruments for an organic and expressive sound.
High-quality 3-ply mesh heads, a real hi-hat with bottom cymbal, and fully playable 3-zone cymbals with 360° triggering further enhance the acoustic-style playing experience. Advanced multi-sensor trigger technology ensures precise response and expressive control across the entire kit.
Designed to keep things simple, Catalina EVO offers quick access to essential settings through its sound module, while the Gretsch E-Drum Remote app provides advanced kit editing, trigger adjustments, firmware updates, and built-in practice tools. Bluetooth and USB Audio & MIDI, four direct outputs, and additional trigger inputs provide versatile connectivity for practice, recording, and live performance.
A complete Gretsch Explorer hardware pack, including cymbal stands, a hi-hat stand, a snare stand, and a single bass drum pedal, is included, making it easy to set up and start playing.
The Gretsch Catalina EVO is available in two configurations, J484 and F405, and two premium finishes: Black Sparkle and Walnut Glaze.
