Will Calhoun to take part in the 2021-2022 Department of Creative Writing Closing Event 10:30 to 11:50 am PDT, Thursday, June 2 in celebration of the new UCR Department of Black Study.

 Making up the group includes award-winning poet Quincy Troupe, writer and editor Margaret Porter Troupe, two-time recipient of an American Book Award Keith Gilyard, Duende of the Quincy Troupe, Author and NYC Alimni Tyehimba Jess. The topic title is Duende: The Deep Song.

Will Calhoun is a two-time Grammy winner with the genre bending iconic Rock band LIVING COLOUR. He’s Produced Herb Alpert (Colors CD), Mos Def (Black Jack Johnson Project). Toured and recorded with Harry Belafonte, Casphus Semenya, Letta Mbulu, Mick Jagger, B.B.
