Drumming News :
Marcus White’s BBC News article reports on former Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer making a notable return to live performance in a new setting, joining a newly formed UK-based rock band for their debut show in Southampton. The performance marked the first time the five-piece group had played together on stage, highlighting both the spontaneity of the collaboration and the experience of its members.
The band came together after guitarist Brett Smith-Daniels reached out to Ferrer, following a recommendation from former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum. What began as a casual request for advice quickly turned into a concrete plan to collaborate, with Ferrer agreeing to join the project within hours of their initial conversation.
Ferrer, who left Guns N’ Roses in 2025 after nearly two decades, described the opportunity as well-timed, expressing a desire to work with different musicians and embrace the more intimate atmosphere of smaller venues. He contrasted these performances with large-scale arena shows, noting the more relaxed and celebratory environment of club gigs.
The debut concert took place at The Brook in Southampton, where local promoter Paul Williams emphasized the significance of attracting high-caliber musicians to the city, suggesting it could help elevate Southampton’s profile as a live music destination.
The band, which also includes Russell Marsden, Chris Payn, and Stefan Bielik, has additional performances planned in Cambridge and London, signaling the start of what could become a larger presence on the UK rock scene.
