Drumming News :
Meinl Stick & Brush is expanding its lineup for 2026 with a focused release of artist signature drumsticks and a new Waxed series, combining refined craftsmanship with player-driven design. Developed alongside Gabe Helguera, Clay Aeschliman, and Miguel Lamas, the new models emphasize consistency, durability, and performance across styles.
Waxed Series: Classic Feel, Modern Consistency
The new Waxed line introduces four essential models—7A, 5A, 5B, and 2B—crafted from American hickory and finished with a light wax coating. The result is a smooth, natural feel paired with a subtle vintage aesthetic. Each stick measures 16 inches and features a classic acorn tip for balanced articulation on drums and cymbals.

Meinl’s manufacturing process ensures consistency: every dowel is weighed, sorted, and matched by weight and pitch before shaping. This “model-based weight selection” guarantees that each pair feels uniform—whether designed for speed or power.
Signature Models: Built for Real-World Playing
Gabe Helguera Signature (SB620) – HERE
Designed for power and projection, Helguera’s stick features a longer 16.42″ length and a 0.580″ diameter for added reach and control.
“I set out to design a stick that could handle everything … the intensity of an I Prevail show and also the finesse of a deep pocket groove. I needed power without losing feel. These sticks deliver both.”

Clay Aeschliman Signature (SB621) – HERE
Aeschliman’s model prioritizes precision and rebound, with a long taper and round tip for articulate attack. Inspired by marching sticks, it balances heft with control.
“It was crucial to have a stick with the heft and shape to dig into the drums… yet still remain balanced enough not to feel too large or overbearing.”

Miguel Lamas Signature (SB622) – HERE
Compact and agile at 16″, Lamas’ stick features a double-lacquer finish for enhanced grip and durability, paired with a medium-heavy weight for versatility.
“The double coat of lacquer gives me the perfect grip – secure, yet natural… It just works … and makes me sound my best.”

Built for Consistency
All models are made in Germany from select American hickory and undergo strict quality control, including weight and pitch matching. Whether choosing from the Waxed series or artist signatures, players can expect reliable feel and performance—pair after pair.
With this 2026 release, Meinl Stick & Brush continues to refine the balance between tradition and innovation, offering drummers tools that are both expressive and dependable.
