Drumming News :
On December 20th, renowned drummer and educator Randy Black took to social media to announce the official launch of his brand-new Patreon page. Known worldwide for his powerful drumming and long-standing career in metal, Black has also built a strong reputation as an in-demand educator, and teaching will play a major role in this new platform.
In a video announcing the launch, Black explained his decision:
“Hey everybody, Randy Black here, and I’ve got a big announcement. So, after a couple of years of consideration, research, and planning, I’ve decided to launch a Patreon page. To make things simple there, I have created one tier where all Patreons will have early ‘ad-free’ access to my entire content, all before it goes public on my YouTube channel.”
Subscribers to Randy’s Patreon can expect a wide range of exclusive content, including drum covers, isolated drum tracks, drum-cam footage, behind-the-scenes material, and in-depth drum lessons. One of the highlights for fans and students alike is Black’s plan to upload his entire critically acclaimed instructional DVD, The Black Book – An Introduction to Creative Metal Drumming, lesson by lesson.
With decades of experience performing and teaching at the highest level, Randy’s Patreon offers a unique opportunity for drummers of all skill levels to learn directly from one of metal’s most respected players.
As if that news wasn’t enough, Black also recently announced that his band Destruction will be joining Testament on their North America 2026 Tour, alongside Overkill. The tour will bring these legendary acts across the U.S. in March and April.
