Sabian Announces Winner of Inaugural SABIAN – Dom Famularo – SEN Mentorship Award

Sabian, renowned for its commitment to excellence in percussion, is thrilled to unveil the recipient of its first-ever SABIAN – Dom Famularo – SEN Mentorship Award. Join us in congratulating Maksym Logosha (@maxlogosha) from Ukraine, whose exceptional submission captured the hearts of our esteemed judges and earned him this prestigious accolade.

Maksym’s submission not only showcased his remarkable musicianship but also demonstrated a profound vision to uplift others amidst challenging circumstances. His commitment to using drumming as a means to bring joy and ease into people’s lives during difficult times resonated deeply with our panel of judges, making him a unanimous choice for the award.

David Garibaldi, legendary drummer and one of the judges, remarked, “Max was a unanimous choice. His musicianship and especially his vision to lift people up in the middle of a difficult life situation made him stand out. He is a living example of ‘onward and upward.'”

Claus Hessler, another esteemed judge, praised Maksym’s strong musical statement and his mission to make lives easier through drumming. “The choice was difficult. Max, however, made a personal and strong musical statement both with his musical presentation and his mission to use drumming as a vehicle to make lives easier in those difficult wartimes,” said Hessler.

Jim Toscano commended Maksym’s simple yet powerful message of wanting to make people happy through his music. “There were so many promising entries. Max’s entry stood out to me in his musical approach and his simple but beautiful message: ‘I just want to make people happy,'” Toscano expressed.

Stephane Chamberland emphasized Maksym’s extraordinary vision and passion, foreseeing a bright future ahead for him. “Max demonstrates an extraordinary vision and passion, and he will undoubtedly utilize this program to enhance his playing career and support others. He truly embodies Dom’s vision in his spirit,” Chamberland noted.

Paul Quin, President of Sabian, expressed delight in Maksym’s selection as the first winner of this prestigious award. “Max’s submission encapsulated all that we were looking for and we were delighted to have him as the first winner of this award. His future is bright and long may he travel onward and upward as a valued part of our community,” Quin shared.

Rick Drumm praised Maksym for embodying the values championed by Dom Famularo, including perseverance, excellence, passion for music, and a commitment to continual learning and teaching. “Max embodies the perseverance, excellence, passion for music and continual learning and teaching that Dom championed,” Drumm affirmed.

In addition to the honor of being named the recipient of the SABIAN – Dom Famularo – SEN Mentorship Award, Maksym Logosha will receive a $2500 grant and exclusive mentorship sessions with the full panel of judges. This opportunity promises to further enrich his musical journey and empower him to continue making a positive impact through his art.

Joe Bergamini, co-founder of the award and close friend of Dom Famularo, expressed gratitude to all mentors, judges, and friends of Dom for their contributions to making the award special. He also extended his appreciation to all other entrants, acknowledging their talent and the touching nature of their submissions.
