Noble & Cooley Introduce The “Special Edition Hackberry” Snare Limited To 30 Pieces

Latest Drumming News

We’ve had a very busy and productive start to 2024, which leads us to our first announcement:

Introducing a new product – The Special Edition Hackberry. The Hackberry tree is native to North America and is also known as Nettletree, Sugarberry, and Beaverwood. It is a hardwood with a color that blends gray with light brown and yellow. The name, Hackberry, comes from the small orange-red fruits that the trees produce in the fall.

This limited-run Solid Shell Classic snare drum has both a sound and look that we’re very proud of.

The sound of the Hackberry SS Classic blends characteristics of both our Maple and Cherry – great mid-range with a nice sustain, and a crack that works well at both medium and high tunings. The wood has interesting grain patterns that favorably blend peach colored tones with brown highlights.

We know when it comes to ordering from a custom drum shop, the waiting is the hardest part, which is why we’ve pre-made 15 of these snares that are ready to ship today. This batch has depths of every size we offer (3.875”, 5”, 6”, 7”, 8”) at a 14″ diameter, each adorned with black nickel tube hardware, flanged black nickel rims, and brass fittings, including the throw-off, butt-end, and tension rods. This is also the first run of drums to come with our new Special Edition badge and interior hand-pasted label with serial number and official ‘NC’ stamp.

We released this batch to our dealers earlier today. If you are interested in one, please reach out to info@noblecooley.com and we’ll connect you with a dealer to place an order.

In addition to these 15 ready-to-ship drums, we also have 15 more bent shells that can be customized to any depth or stain finish that we offer. In total, there will be 30 of the Special Edition Hackberry’s, each hand-numbered 1-30. And to add more value, each Noble & Cooley Special Edition drum comes with a free antique brass drum key (a $29.99 value).
