This stellar line-up, featuring Buddy’s daughter Cathy Rich, Emmy Award-winning drummer Gregg Potter with special guest Deep Purple’s Ian Paice, is sure to kick your seasonal festivities into top gear with the adrenaline high that only a big band can provide. The programme includes all time favourites such as Big Swing Face, The Little
Drummer Boy, Love for Sale, Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town, Just in Time, The Beat Goes On, Nutville and more.
One of Buddy Rich’s last requests of his daughter, Cathy, was to keep his band working and his music alive, as well as to do something for young people. It was decided that an annual memorial concert seemed like the best way to do it. Cathy Rich produced the first Buddy Rich Memorial Concert in 1988 at Carnegie Hall in New York and thus began the story of these incredible events which led to the band once again touring throughout the world in Buddy’s name, which continues to this day! Following the success of the 25th Anniversary Memorial Concert at the London Palladium in 2012 and sell-out runs at Ronnie Scott’s in 2017, 2019 and 2023, the UK welcomes back the Buddy Rich Big Band.
Drummers the world over, across all genres, continue to be inspired by Buddy, who is still referred to as “the world’s greatest drummer”.
