Below is an obituary posted at this location: HERE

The world of percussion is grieving a profound loss as we come to terms with the unexpected passing of Chris Brooks, one of the founders of Row-Loff Productions. The shock and sadness that greeted the news were felt far and wide, as Chris’s influence on percussion literature resonated across continents. For more than two decades, my company had the privilege of promoting and selling Chris’s percussion literature throughout Europe. His work represented not just a passion for percussion but a commitment to pushing the boundaries of this art form.

His compositions and contributions have enriched the lives of countless percussionists and students, leaving an enduring impact. Beyond the professional relationship, I cherish fond memories of the times when I had the opportunity to meet and converse with Chris in person. These moments were not just about business but also about sharing a common love for percussion and fostering genuine connections.

It’s in these interactions that his warm personality and dedication to his craft shone brightly. This year, we had plans to meet again at PASIC, and I was eagerly looking forward to that encounter. Sadly, that meeting will never come to pass. The percussion community has lost a visionary, and I have lost a friend.

As we remember Chris Brooks, we celebrate the remarkable contributions he made to the world of percussion. His legacy, his compositions, and the memories we shared will continue to inspire percussionists for generations to come. Chris’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his music and spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
