Known for her inventive beats and high voltage live performances, Janet Weiss has lent her propulsive rhythms to such bands as Sleater-Kinney, Quasi, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Elliott Smith, The Shins, Slang, Bright Eyes and many more.
Janet picked up her drumsticks at 22-years-old and never looked back. A self-taught musician, she has been a fixture in the Pacific Northwest Independent Music Scene for almost three decades.
A life-long, die-hard Ludwig champion, she integrated the distinctive sound and look of the Keystone badge 60’s kits into her powerful sound and onstage swagger. Currently she is utterly head over heels in love with her 2022 silver sparkle Legacy Mahogany trap set.
Janet grew up under the Hollywood sign but has called Portland, OR her home since 1989. She lives with her musician partner Drew and Cattle Dog Dizzy.
