Catch this tour from influential and essential metal band Armored Saint. On the drums is the fluffy headed and always smiling Gonzo Sandoval. His hard hitting and energetic approach to drumming has helped to set the tone for their music and with bassist Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning, Mercyful Fate, and rumored top choice by Metallica to take over the bass, but to this point hasn’t taken the bait) makes up one of the most solid rhythm sections in metal music.
The band has been activate again since vocalist John Bush departed ways as Anthrax’s singer where he held the post from 1992 to 2005. The band is rounded out by guitarist and brother to Gonzo, Phil Sandoval along with lead guitarist Jeff Duncan (Dizzy Reed, Odin, Armored Saint) They are ready to tear the road up in 2022.
A bit about Gonzo from the man himself:
“I’m a founding member & Drummer of Armored Saint, since 1982 till present 2020. I believe Armored Saint is a sport. We are musical athletes. I write, record, and produce music. I’m currently working on 2 projects in the writing stages BlackRaven Band 2 ( Progressive Native American Flute Music) and my Brothers first Solo Guitar Record ( Rock & Metal). I love Drums. I’m a heavy energy player, yet I embrace many styles and I incorporate all I hear & Love in my playing. A few of my favorite drummers are: Buddy Rich, Steve Smith, Simon Phillips, Tommy Aldridge, John Bonham, Dave Weckl”
