Revitalised Rhythm Magazine Appoints New Team & Issue #298 is out

The UK’s only magazine for drummers & percussionists, Rhythm, now owned by Beats Network Ltd, is delighted to announce its new team: highly respected editor Louise King returns, experienced publisher Ondine Barry takes the helm and Kim Noakes becomes advertising manager.

Issue #297

The first edition of the relaunched magazine, a much-anticipated Neil Peart tribute, saw print copies hitting doormats across the globe in November 2020. The follow-up issue, published this January, focuses on everything a beatmaker needs to know about setting up a professional drum studio; recording, filming, editing, audio & lighting, social media promotion and much more – perfect for the current climate where musicians need to be seen online to be heard.

Rhythm retains many popular sections and introduces new ones, keeping readers right up to date with the latest trends and equipment, be it hybrid or e-kits, live-streaming or social media and studio tech.  The magazine’s independent content includes interviews with top artists as well as new and emerging talent; expert, in-depth and rated product reviews; insights into players’ setups; and a comprehensive tuition section for all levels with accompanying video lessons on Rhythm’s YouTube channel.

Louise King, editor of Rhythm magazine 1999 to 2010, brings a wealth of experience in the drumming world. “I am thrilled to be back with Rhythm,” she said, “I plan to build on the magazine’s rich history with creative, innovative content, intelligent perspectives and cutting-edge insights to engage with our current and future readers.”

Publisher Ondine Barry added: “Rhythm has such a fantastic and established history as the UK’s best-loved drum and percussion magazine, being an integral part of this exceptionally well-loved and respected publication is a real honour.

Kim Noakes, the new advertising manager has a wealth of music industry experience.

Issue 298 of the magazine goes on sale on the 28th January and is packed with features including: Learn how to create a killer online studio with Jim Toscano, featuring the studio setups of Dave Weckl, Stanton Moore and Dave Garibaldi! Plus, a tribute to the wonderful Bobby Orr, interviews with Cindy Blackman Santana, Dan Flint, Gary Husband, Pat Illingworth, Madden Klass, Will Glaserand, Sarah Tomek, our fantastic tuition section and gear reviews from Yamaha, Mapex, Paiste, Aerodrums and Aston Microphones.
