Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was rushed to the hospital on Thursday night after an incident at his Los Angeles residence. According to TMZ, a 911 call was made from Adler’s home shortly after 6:30 PM to report a self-inflicted stab wound. Law enforcement sources revealed that when officers and paramedics arrived, they discovered Adler with a stab wound to his stomach. He was subsequently taken to a local hospital, and fortunately, the injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.

Officer Mike Lopez told Page Six, “Officers responded to Adler’s Studio City, California home on a call of a possible suicide attempt. When they arrived, officers determined that no crime had been committed and deemed the incident a medical emergency only.” However, Lopez did not provide details on whether anyone else was present at Adler’s home during the incident.

A spokesperson from the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to People that they received a call for a possible stabbing at Adler’s address and transported one patient to the local hospital via ambulance. There is no suspicion of the involvement of any other individuals in the incident.

Steven Adler, 54, gained recognition as the drummer for Guns N’ Roses from 1985 to 1990 before being fired due to his well-documented struggle with drug addiction. His battle with substance abuse led to further troubles, including legal issues and rehab stints.

Adler’s public struggles with addiction were highlighted on reality TV, as he appeared on seasons two and five of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” in 2008 and 2011, respectively, as well as the first season of the spin-off program “Sober House” in 2009.

Despite the challenges, Adler celebrated four years of sobriety in 2018, emphasizing the positive changes in his life. His autobiography, “My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N’ Roses,” released in July 2010, candidly details his battles with addiction, financial ruin, and health crises.

In an update from TMZ, Adler’s representative clarified that the stabbing was not a suicide attempt but rather an accident. The representative described the wound as “very minor” and “superficial,” ensuring that Adler still plans to perform at a scheduled gig in Las Vegas on July 12. Adler’s past substance abuse issues were also addressed, with the representative confirming his sobriety for several years.

Fans and well-wishers have expressed their support for Adler on social media, hoping for his speedy recovery. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by individuals battling addiction, even after years of recovery.
