TRX Cymbals & SoMar Drummers Announce MADC Scholarship Contest Winners

TRX Cymbal Co. LLC and SoMar Drummers, Inc. are proud to announce the winners of the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Drum Camp Scholarship contest. The outstanding young drummers are:

• Grand Prize: Wyatt Azevedo (full scholarship)

• 1^st Prize: Declan Waugh

• 2^nd Prize: Levi Benjamin-Pietila

• 3^rd Prize: Cosette Rogers

Open to drummers between the ages of 12 and 15, the contestants’ entries were judged by TRX drum artists and educators Ricardo “Oso” Cortez, Val Sepulveda, Brandon Khoo, Megan Spencer, Josh Baker-Dukes and Pauline Roberts.

Wyatt’s entry video received the top score of 80% along with the judges’ comments on his impressive ability to play a variety of grooves with power and authenticity. He will receive a full scholarship (including tuition and room-and-board) to attend the camp which features Matt Garstka (Animals As Leaders), Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy) and Sheila Klotz (camp host and educator) plus other top educators and specialists in the craft.
