Drumming News

Rock supergroup The Dead Daisies are gearing up for a blues-fueled European run this June—and they’re bringing in seasoned drummer Brent Fitz to power their rhythm section for the tour. Known for his work with Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The ConspiratorsToque, and Vince Neil, Fitz is stepping in for the formidable Tommy Clufetos, who is temporarily unavailable.

Europe! Here we come! See you all this week!” Fitz shared in a recent statement. “I’m thrilled to be playing drums with The Dead Daisies for the month of June, filling in for the mighty Tommy Clufetos. Honored to be onstage with such an awesome band: Doug Aldrich, David Lowy, Michael Devin, and my dear friend John Corabi. John and I go way back… having long and celebrated musical history together in Union. Very looking forward to being back onstage together! Can’t wait to play and say hi to you all in Europe!”

Fans can catch Brent Fitz behind the kit at the following European shows throughout June, as the band supports their latest release, Lookin’ For Trouble.

A Bold New Chapter: Lookin’ For Trouble

Released via Fame / Malaco RecordsLookin’ For Trouble marks The Dead Daisies’ first full-length blues album—a fiery reinterpretation of genre-defining classics laced with the band’s trademark hard rock grit. Born from late-night jam sessions in Nashville and completed at the iconic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the album is a tribute to the blues legends that inspired the foundations of rock ‘n’ roll.

The Blues, in my opinion, has influenced EVERY genre of music we listen to, with the exception of classical,” says frontman John Corabi. “I would refer to it as ‘The Soul’ of music, and I hope you love our interpretations of these songs as much as we loved playing them…

A highlight of the album is the band’s electrifying version of “Black Betty”, a raw and rhythm-heavy reimagining of the traditional blues staple.

Time to check out our version of ‘Black Betty’. It’s an old working blues song that’s been covered by a few artists over the years, and one of John Corabi’s favorite songs on Lookin’ For Trouble,” the band posted. “We tried a whole new take on it! Hope you like it!

Lookin’ For Trouble also marks a unique lineup twist. While Sarah Tomek (Steven Tyler Band, Samantha Fish) held the sticks during the recording sessions, the live tour will showcase Brent Fitz’s dynamic playing through Europe.

Legends Meet Legacy

Recording at FAME Studios—a hallowed hall that birthed classics from Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and Etta James—infused Lookin’ For Trouble with authenticity and reverence. The Daisies lineup, featuring John Corabi(Mötley CrüeThe Scream), Doug Aldrich (WhitesnakeDio), David Lowy (Red PhoenixMink), and Michael Devin(WhitesnakeLynch Mob), brought raw passion to every track.

What started as relaxed after-hours blues jams during their Light ‘Em Up rock album sessions turned into a full-fledged homage to the genre that laid rock’s foundation. Recognizing the magic, producer Marti Frederiksen hit “record,” capturing the spirit that led to Lookin’ For Trouble.

Rock Roots, Blues Soul

Since their inception over a decade ago, The Dead Daisies have forged a reputation for unapologetic rock power. With a discography spanning seven studio albums, a live album, a covers album, and a Best Of collection, they’ve toured the globe and shared stages with titans like KISSGuns N’ RosesScorpionsAerosmith, and Def Leppard.

Lookin’ For Trouble is more than an album—it’s a celebration of rebellion, soul, and the genre once feared as “The Devil’s Music.” As Corabi notes, the title nods to the blues’ misunderstood roots and the raw truth it carries.
