Drumming News :
Rikki Rockett, Poison drummer, has announced his switch to endorsing Rogers Drums, two years after leaving Drum Workshop for Yamaha. In a recent video, Rockett shared his decision, reflecting on his long history with drums and explaining why he’s excited to partner with Rogers.
Rockett’s career began with Pearl Drums before he joined Drum Workshop, where he remained for nearly two decades. After experimenting with his own brand of custom kits, he moved to Yamaha in 2023. Despite these changes, his passion for vintage drums, especially Rogers, never faded. He first encountered Rogers as a 12-year-old with a Rogers Dynasonic snare drum, which remained his prized possession until it was stolen years later.
Now, Rockett is embracing the freedom to play what excites him. “I’m at a point in my career where I want to play what excites me,” he said. Rogers, with its recent resurgence, feels like the perfect fit. The company has been carefully rebuilding its legacy over the past five to six years, focusing on quality over mass advertising—a strategy that aligns with Rockett’s own values.
With his endorsement, Rockett aims to drive Rogers Drums into the future while respecting its rich history. “It feels like home,” he says. For Rockett, this partnership isn’t just business—it’s a return to his roots and a chance to share his passion for one of drumming’s legendary brands.
