Premier Drums has expanded its Artist range with the introduction of its new Artist Octobans, giving drummers and percussionists another way to add distinctive pitch and tonal character to their setups. Available in both high- and low-pitched configurations, the new two-piece Octoban sets offer extended shell depths and a compact 6-inch diameter designed to produce focused, resonant tones with clear pitch definition.
With their long, narrow shells and unmistakable voice, Octobans have long been used by drummers looking to extend the tonal possibilities of a traditional tom setup. Premier’s new Artist Octobans are designed to provide both the high-end attack and low-end depth needed to create greater contrast across a drum kit.
Choose Your Pitch
Premier Artist Octobans are available in two configurations, allowing players to choose the tonal range that best complements their existing setup.
The High-Pitch set (PAOCT2HP) features 10- and 12-inch shell depths. These Octobans produce bright, cutting high-end tones, making them ideal for adding focused pitch variation and extending the upper range of a tom setup.
The Low-Pitch set (PAOCT2LP) features 16- and 18-inch shell depths. These deeper shells deliver powerful low-end tones, providing additional depth and tonal contrast to a drum kit.
For players looking for an even broader range of Octoban voices, the high- and low-pitched sets can be combined to create a more expansive tonal palette.

Construction and Design
Each Artist Octoban features a 6-inch shell diameter constructed from 6mm matte black PVC. The compact diameter, combined with the extended shell depths, produces the focused and articulate tone associated with Octobans, while the PVC construction contributes to a dry, controlled response with short sustain.
The matte black finish also gives the Octobans a distinctive appearance that can complement a wide range of drum setups.
Premier has fitted the Octobans with 1.5mm triple-flange steel hoops, designed to provide a slightly more open and resonant response than heavier, thicker hoops. Chrome hardware completes the construction.
Fully Adjustable Stand Included
Both Octoban sets include a fully adjustable stand, making positioning and integration into an existing drum setup straightforward. The stand allows players to adjust both height and angle to achieve a comfortable playing position.
With a minimum playing height of 1120mm and a maximum height of 1450mm, the stand provides considerable flexibility for different playing styles, kit configurations, and ergonomic preferences.
