Mike Mangini’s new band, MONOLITH, has dropped a drum-cam playthrough video for their first single, “Oligarchs.” The band, which includes Hernán “Motley” Rodríguez on bass and vocals, Andy Barrow on guitar, and Mangini on drums, describes itself as a genre-defying fusion of rock and metal.
2023/2024 has been a busy year for Mike, with the release of his debut solo album Invisible Signs in November 2023, featuring Tony Dickinson, Ivan Keller, Gus G. (Firewind, Ozzy Osbourne), and Jen Majura (ex-Evanescence). After a 10-year break, he returned to teaching with Master Classes in January 2024, touring the U.S. and abroad. He also released Expanded Coordination, Universal Practice Skill, the fourth book in his Rhythm Knowledge series, and filmed new lessons for Drum Channel.
