Drumming News :

Musician Evan Casas has been reunited with his custom drum set nearly a year after it was stolen from a storage unit, thanks to online sleuths and an undercover police operation.
The one-of-a-kind drums were built 25 years ago by Casas’ college friend, Scott Ciprari, who later co-founded SJC Drums. Deeply attached to the kit, Casas reported the theft in February but feared he would never see it again.
Months later, members of an SJC Drums Facebook community spotted the drums listed for sale online. After confirming the listing, Casas contacted the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office instead of buying them back himself.
Detectives arranged a sting operation on New Year’s Eve, using a secret code word to signal deputies once Casas confirmed the drums were his. Police recovered the drum set without making an arrest, as the seller was reportedly acting on behalf of a family member while the investigation continued.
Now safely back home, Casas plans to keep the treasured drums with him rather than in storage, preserving both their musical and sentimental value for years to come.
