Alex González Uses DWe Acoustic-Electronic Wireless Kit on Maná Tour

Drumming News :

Drum Workshop, Inc. (DW) is delighted to see Alex González using his DWe Acoustic-Electronic Wireless kit on the current 29 arena date of the Maná Vivir Sin Aire tour.

Maná is considered by many to be one of the greatest Spanish-language rock bands, and in 2025, they became the first Spanish-language rock band to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Since the band’s inception in the 1980s, they have earned four Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, and multiple other prestigious honors.

As the powerful and dynamic drummer of Maná, Alex González is pivotal in crafting the band’s rhythmic foundation. His unique drumming style has significantly influenced rock drumming with its energy, precision, and musicality.

Alex González has been using his DWe Piano Black Gloss kit combined with the Roland V71 drum module, V-cymbals, and DrumLink™ WT-10 wireless adaptors on the ‘B’ stage for the more intimate parts of the arena shows, where the band plays on a riser in the middle of the show floor. The DWe kit is vital for keeping stage volume down when the band plays together in close proximity. As Alex explains in the video, his DWe setup includes drum samples of many DW shells, such as the DW Purpleheart expansion pack for the V Series drum modules, plus the Swiss Family cymbal expansion pack. All of which means he can fully personalize his kit.

Maná recently played their 43rd arena show in the LA area, surpassing Bruce Springsteen’s record for most arena performances in the region. Watch Alex and the team talking about using the DWe kit when they played the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, here.
