Derrick Wright To Sit In On Late Night 8G Band With Seth Myers May 9th – 12th

Derrick Wright who currently drums for Adele will be sitting in with the Late Night, 8G band starting this evening 5/9 through 5/12.

Brooklyn, N.Y native and son of the Late Rev. Timothy Wright, Derrick began playing drums at the early age of 4 and professionally since the age of 15.  He has recorded on numerous albums and recordings such as the Live at The Royal Albert Hall with Adele, Live at the Church Studios with Adele in which he recorded the following songs: When we were Young, Hello, Rolling in the Deep and Water Under the Bridge. Aside from Adele, Derrick also went on tour with Thalia and recorded on the “Live in Mexico” album.

Derrick Wright is considered one of the top drummers in the music industry internationally. He has toured the world playing for Toni Braxton, Babyface, Thalia, Adele, and many others. You might not know who Derrick Wright is personally but musically you have bopped your head, moved your hips and tapped your feet to his drum recordings and live performances. He has gained the respect from many music executives, musicians, fellow artists, and fans around the globe.

Derrick Wright has also been acknowledged and has won many prestigious awards. Some of which are an Oscar and Emmy in 2013 for the hit song “Skyfall” which was the featured song for the James Bond Motion Picture “SkyFall”.  On that list of awards Derrick can also include Grammy’s for his work with Adele from 2009 through 2017 categories include Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Album of the year and Song of the Year.  

At this current moment Mr. Derrick Wright is working on some new and exciting projects and is looking forward to opening a third recording studio.
