When it comes to virtues such as endurance, unconditional commitment and a thoroughly down-to-earth attitude, Anvil are the measure of all things. Like few other metal acts, the band surrounding founding members Steve ‘Lips’ Kudlow (vocals, guitars) and Robb Reiner (drums), plus bassist Chris Robertson have earned their laurels of blood, sweat and tears.

Since their 2009 documentary film The Story Of Anvil, which reveals the unvarnished truth about the music industry, the world has been aware that the day-to-day life of most musicians doesn’t consist of MTV Awards, Grammy ceremonies, red carpets, champagne and caviar but mainly of energy-sapping tours de force with little sleep, junk food and meager earnings. Yet these difficult conditions have made Anvil what they are today: a band that stands solid as a rock in the turbulent waters of a musical genre that produces like no other music by fans for fans.

Rob’s Biography:

Robb “Robbo” Reiner (Robert Geza Reiner, born April 22, 1958 (age 63)) a legendary Canadian drumming icon best known for being a innovator of many metal drumming styles, founding member of the band Anvil, along with influencing all generations of drummers thereafter, perhaps is the most imitated drummer in metal history. Anvil is considered one of the creators of the thrash/speed metal genre. However, despite their influence, the band never experienced widespread success or popularity.

Robb Reiner is praised for his work with Anvil on such classic tracks like Jackhammer, Winged Assassins, White Rhino, Speed of Sound along with the cutting-edge Metal/Jazz track “Swing Thing” on Anvil’s current release Juggernaut Of Justice that withstands the test of time throughout history of metal. Reiner comes from a jazz drumming background and marching drum line discipline, being strongly influenced by likes of Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa along with some of rocks best – Ian Paice, Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Cozy Powell, Don Brewer and Carl Palmer.
