The Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) is the largest percussion event in the world featuring over 150 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations from the finest artists around the world. PASIC showcases all areas of percussion, including: drum set, marching, keyboard, symphonic, world, recreational, education, music technology, new music, and health & wellness.

We are seeking numerous hard working and enthusiastic individuals to share their time, talent, and knowledge to this exciting international event. The Percussive Arts Society is working hard to ensure that this convention is a huge success for both the performers and the attendees.

Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age by the beginning of their first shift.

All Volunteers will receive a free four-day pass to participate in the convention as well as a complimentary Volunteer t-shirt.

COVID-19 Requirement

In order to volunteer at PASIC 2021, you must be able to verify that you are, or will be, fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to attending PASIC, November 10-13, 2021, in Indianapolis, Indiana. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from receiving the vaccination, you will need to email pasic2021@pas.org in advance with proof of your exemption. No one will be able to receive their PASIC badge without being vaccinated or submitting advance proof of exemption.

Volunteer Shift Descriptions

·       PASIC Registration Desk

This position handles all registration for the conference, including pick-up of all badges, passes and tickets, and serves as a general information desk representative for PASIC.

·       PASIC Badge Checkers

This position involves standing at session doors and checking badges to ensure that only registered PASIC attendees and ticket holders are entering the sessions. You may also be asked to assist with tracking attendance figures per session.

·       PASIC Gift Shop

This position will assist in the sales of PAS and PASIC merchandise.

·       Rhythm! Discovery Center Volunteer

  • This position will assist our staff at the Rhythm! Discovery Center during PASIC. Tasks include checking attendee badges at the entrance, manning the coat check, and monitoring activity in the museum.

·       PASIC I&E Competition

  • As a volunteer during the PASIC Individual & Ensemble Competition, you will work along-side the competition judges and PAS Marching Committee members. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the festival runs smoothly and that the participants have a positive experience. This can include assisting with moving equipment, running sheets for judges, or many other jobs. This event takes place on Thursday evening of PASIC.

·       PASIC Ensemble Competition Crew

  • This group of individuals will assist the Percussion Ensemble Committee in running the Concert Chamber Percussion Ensemble Competition on Friday of PASIC. Responsibilities include running scoresheets for the judges, assisting ensembles with doors and moving equipment, and keeping ensembles on schedule in the warm-up area. 

·       PASIC DrumLine Battle

  • As a volunteer during the PASIC DrumLine Battle, you will work along-side the judges, PAS Marching Committee members, and DCI Staff. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the DrumLine Battle runs smoothly and that the participants have a positive experience. This can include helping groups move their equipment, assisting the judges, or various other odd jobs. This event takes place on Friday morning of PASIC.

PASIC Logistics Team

It takes a small army of volunteers to keep all of the PASIC sessions running on time. Duties include, but are not limited to setting up stages, moving gear, checking badges at doors, among other required assignments. We rely on the PASIC Logistics Team to keep things running smoothly. *Please note: Logistics Team members MUST be members of PAS at the VIP or All Access level.Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age by the beginning of their first shift.

All Logistics Team Members will receive a free four-day pass to participate in the convention as well as a complimentary Logistics t-shirt.
