Sonor release new instruments for 2021

SONOR, one of the leading manufacturers of drums from Bad Berleburg, Germany, and a history in making the finest percussion instruments ranging back to 1875, has released a digital “event” video for all of its 2021 product news.

Managing Director Arthur Chuang, Head of Sales Karl-Heinz Menzel as well as Product Manager Frank Boestfleisch take viewers on a virtual tour throughout the company, presenting the 2021 news. Details on all new products – including more video – is available online at sonor.com and shared via the company’s social media outlets in the days after.

It’s the first time SONOR chooses a virtual launch of its product news, given the current situation. The company hopes to be able to physically present the news as soon as possible.

SONOR launches new AQX Series:

SONOR rounds up AQ family of drums with new AQX Series

SONOR is always aiming to empower musicians all over the world with the best percussion instruments, from the first early steps to professional level. To purpose that aim, SONOR extents their product lineup with the new drum series AQX.

With this new line SONOR offers its well-known quality and sound at a competitive price point. Drummers at the beginning of their musical journey now have a lower entry barrier into the world of SONOR while still be able to create their own sound.

The new line of drums features poplar shells, and acquires features from the respective AQ1 and AQ2 Series like pre-muffled bass drum heads, AQ lugs with internal TuneSafe. Three stunning sparkle finishes are available: Black Midnight Sparkle, Blue Ocean Sparkle and Red Moon Sparkle – shining a light in every situation. Two complete, “ready-to-go” kits are available, as well as three compact kits, shells only.

The Studio (20” Bass Drum, 10” & 12” Tom Tom, 14” Floor Tom, 14” Snare Drum) and Stage (22” Bass Drum, 10” & 12” Tom Tom, 16” Floor Tom, 14” Snare Drum) configuration include the new 1000 Series hardware set and a B8 Bronze Cymbal Set with 14” Hi Hat, 16” Crash and 20” Ride (not available in all markets).

Three popular compact kits are available: Jazz (18” Bass Drum, 12” Tom Tom, 14” Floor Tom, 13” Snare Drum), Jungle (16” Bass Drum, 10” Tom Tom, 13” Floor Tom, 13” Snare Drum) and Micro (14” Bass Drum, 8” Tom Tom, 13” Floor Tom, 13” Snare Drum). Big updates on our Vintage Series for 2021:

Exciting additions for the successful Vintage Series, originally introduced for the company’s 140th anniversary in 2015! 

A new DELMAR „Vintage Silver Glitter“ (VSG) wrap will be added, but also the company’s legendary „Rosewood Semi Gloss“ (RSG) wood veneer finish is added to the family of finishes for the Series.

In addition, the line of individual drums will see a few new faces. Two snare drum sizes (14“ x 5“ and 13“ x 6“) are added, as well as two tom sizes (8“ x 8“ and 14“ x 9“). These new sizes will be available in all Vintage Series finishes.

On the accessory side the company is thrilled to announce a classy bass drum mounted cymbal holder. This straight, retractable cymbal holder features an infinite cymbal tilter adjustment and adds that Vintage look. The cymbal holder includes our Vintage Series prism mount and Memory Lock for a tight and secure grip. SQ1 Updates for 2021:

With the SQ1 Series SONOR introduced a drum series with versatile birch shells, a revolutionary sound sustainer system and four beautiful finishes, manufactured at the company’s headquarter in Germany. In 2021 the SQ1 series will receive some exciting and long awaited additions and touch ups.

Two new lacquer finishes, Satin Gold Metallic (SGM) and Satin Copper Brown (SCB), will be added and replace two original colors (Hot Rod Red and Racing Green). The popular GT Black (GTB) and Cruiser Blue (CRB) finishes remain.

Another upgrade will be matching color wood hoops on all SQ1 bass drums from now on.

SONOR introduces new 1000 Series Hardware:

With the new 1000 series hardware SONOR extends its product range for drummers that are at the beginning of their musical journey. Offering SONOR quality at a competitive price point, the 1000 series will be the new entry point into the world of SONOR hardware.

All stands offer double braced legs for maximum durability. The HH 1000 Hi Hat stand comes with rotating legs offering flexibility also for double bass drum pedal players.

The line includes not only the HS 1000 hardware set (including a pedal, two boom stands, a snare stand and hi hat stand), but all items are also available individually.

The 1000 Series is added to the family of a broad range of hardware stands and accessories, offering drummers a solution for every situation.
