Drumming News :
Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer has reassured fans that he is doing well after several difficult years marked by health issues and personal loss.
Speaking on Live From My Drum Room!, Kramer said he feels better than he has in years, calling it “probably the best Joey” of his life. He thanked fans for their continued concern and support, saying their encouragement has meant a great deal throughout his recovery.
Kramer revealed that decades of high-energy drumming took a toll on his body, leading to chronic back problems and recent surgery. He also reflected on other major challenges, including heart surgery and the loss of his wife, Linda, describing the past few years as extremely difficult.
Despite those setbacks, Kramer said the experience has made him stronger and more appreciative of life. He credited the support of family, friends, and fans for helping him move forward.
The drummer has remained largely out of the spotlight since 2020, when a dispute over his readiness to perform temporarily sidelined him from Aerosmith. While he later returned to the band, Aerosmith’s farewell Peace Out tour was ultimately halted after Steven Tyler suffered a serious vocal injury.
Now embracing semi-retirement, Kramer says he is focused on his health and enjoying this new chapter, expressing gratitude for his recovery and optimism about the future.
