Latin Percussion Introduces 2026 Product Releases at NAMM

At the 2026 NAMM Show, Latin Percussion (LP®) presents a wide range of new instruments, including artist signature models, limited-edition drums, and additions to its student-focused City Series. The new releases highlight LP’s ongoing focus on craftsmanship, sound quality, and practical design across multiple playing styles and experience levels.


Tony Succar Series – Learn more HERE

LP® introduces the Tony Succar Series, a new collection that includes congas, bongos, timbales, timbalitos, snare drums, and a cajón. The series combines premium materials with a visually distinctive rainbow finish and black hardware accents, offering a modern look alongside bright, punchy tones.

Artist Background

Tony Succar is a Peruvian-American multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and timbalero. He is a three-time Latin Grammy winner and received the Latin Grammy for Best Salsa Album in 2019, when he was also named Producer of the Year. In 2025, he won the Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album for Mimy & Tony.

Congas and Bongos

Available in traditional Quinto, Conga, and Tumba sizes, the Tony Succar Congas and Bongos feature:

  • Stave shells made from New Zealand Pine
  • A bright, open, and punchy tonal character
  • Rainbow finish with Black Nickel hardware
  • Natural rawhide heads
  • Comfort Curve II rims
  • 5/16” diameter tuning rods

These drums are designed to suit both live performance and studio applications.

Thunder Timbales and Timbalitos

The series also includes Tony Succar Thunder Timbales and Timbalitos, based on LP’s Tito Puente series.

  • Constructed from rainbow chrome-plated steel, with subtle color variations between sets
  • Finished with Black Nickel hardware

Thunder Timbales

  • 10” deep shells
  • 15” and 16” heads
  • Bright, full timbale tone

Timbalitos

  • 6.5” deep shells
  • 9.25” and 10.25” heads
  • Focused, cutting sound

Both sets include a heavy-duty stand with cowbell mount, timbales sticks, and a tuning wrench.

Snare Drums

The Tony Succar Snare Drums are 4.5” deep and available in three sizes:

  • 10” Salsa Snare
  • 8” Micro Snare
  • 6” Micro Snare

They feature Black Nickel hardware and drum-key tuning. The Micro snares include mounts compatible with 3/8” rods.

Cajón

The Tony Succar Cajón is built with:

  • A New Zealand Pine body
  • A gloss black Birch soundboard
  • Dimensions: 19” high x 12” wide x 12” deep

It includes patented multi-adjusting snare wires and large rubber feet for stability, producing clear bass tones and defined slap sounds.

LP® also introduces the Pedrito Timbales, expanding Pedro ‘Pedrito’ Martinez’s signature product line.

Artist Background

Pedro ‘Pedrito’ Martinez is a Cuban percussionist, singer, and songwriter known for blending Afro-Cuban folkloric traditions with jazz influences. He has worked with artists including Bruce Springsteen, Sting, and Paul Simon. His 2025 album Ilusión Óptica was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Contemporary Tropical Album.

The rim and rib placement are designed to support rimshots and cascara playing styles. Each set includes a heavy-duty stand with cowbell mount, timbales sticks, and a tuning wrench.

LP® introduces a Limited-Edition Cherry Conga Set with matching Cherry Bongos.

  • Constructed from solid-ply 100% Cherry wood
  • Bright, musical tone with balanced sustain
  • Copper-plated hardware
  • Top-tuning system with 5/16” tuning rods

  • Hand-selected rawhide heads

The 30” congas are available in:

The bongos feature 7¼” and 8⅝” drums.


City Series: City Timbales

LP® expands its City Series with the introduction of the City Timbales, aimed at students and early-stage players.

  • 6” deep Black Sand Steel shells
  • Drum-key tunable
  • 13” and 14” drums
  • Black hardware for a consistent, understated look
  • Straight rims with recessed clips for rimshot playing

The City Timbales are supplied with an ultra-lightweight aluminum leg stand, cowbell mount, cowbell, timbale sticks, and a drum key. They offer a bright, sharp tone with strong attack and are suitable for a wide range of musical styles.
