The Reference One 20-ply Snare Drum is engineered for drummers who demand extreme power, precision, and consistency. Built on a formidable 20-ply, 25mm shell—combining 14 plies of North American Maple on the outside with 6 plies of premium Birch on the inside—it delivers a focused, high-impact voice ideal for stage or studio. Its 45-degree bearing edges enhance articulation, ensuring that even at peak volume the drum remains responsive and controlled.
To complement its massive tonal engine, the snare features MasterCast die-cast hoops that boost projection while keeping shell contact minimal. STL single swivel lugs provide precise tuning across the stainless-steel tension rods, allowing players to dial in their sound with accuracy. Pearl’s patented SR1000 Glide-Lock strainer further elevates performance, using a locking switch to keep the Ultra-Sound “I”-type snare wires consistently engaged at any tension for added sensitivity, sizzle, and focus.
Crafted from select veneers from Pearl’s Masterworks vault, the Reference One 20-ply Snare Drum is available in both premium and custom finishes, in models RF1P1365S20/C, RF1P1450S20/C, RF1P1465S20/C and RF1C1365S20/C, RF1C1450S20/C, RF1C1465S20/C.
