The Zildjian Family Opportunity Fund, a permanently endowed trust managed and administered by the Percussive Arts Society, is proud to announce that it will resume its program to provide funding for community-based percussion programs in underrepresented neighborhoods. These programs will be free to participants in accessible locations such as schools, community centers, parks, senior living facilities, or libraries.

The purpose of the Zildjian Family Opportunity Fund is to promote music education and support young musicians from all backgrounds. Applications will be accepted from current PAS members only, and awards will be granted based on artistic and educational quality, the content of the presentation, and the demonstrated ability of the presenter to carry out the proposal as submitted. Multiple proposals will be accepted for requested awards ranging from $250 to $500.

“We are thrilled to relaunch the Zildjian Family Opportunity Fund and provide opportunities for young musicians in underrepresented communities,” said Joshua Simonds, PAS Executive Director. “Through this program, we aim to foster a love of music and percussion in as many people as possible, and we believe that this initiative will make a significant impact in achieving that goal.”

“It is our hope to inspire more and more people to express themselves through music, especially those in under-served communities,” said Craigie Zildjian, Executive Chair/President of Zildjian.
