Dave Collingwood handmakes cymbals and offers them for sale or will teach you how to make your own. In this article you will see an offering for a hands-on training session at his shop in Bristol England or your can join his Patreon and learn the art of cymbal making with video’s or direct direction from him.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the art of cymbal making, cymbal repair, and more.

On-site class:

I’ve started running one-to-one cymbal-making experiences – a relaxed and fun 3-hour session here at my workshop in Bristol, teaching you a little theory then on to hand-hammering and lathing a raw Turkish B20 bronze cymbal blank into your very own finished 16″ crash cymbal.

I oversee and guide each participant, and the final result really is something crafted by your own hands!

If you’d like to know more, or to book for yourself or as a gift for another drummer in your life, drop me a line directly or keep an eye on my website for more details as I finalize the online booking portal. I’m currently taking bookings for the last week of September onwards into next year.

Not just makers – cymbal lovers are most welcome, we can all learn from each other! The content you’ll find here is geared towards anyone and everyone with an appreciation for these fine instruments.

You can expect:

  • Group Zoom meetings with new & established cymbal smiths and cymbal lovers from all corners of the globe. (Do globes have corners?)
  • Guest content from cymbal smiths offering their thoughts and insights.
  • Regular posts from myself in the exclusive Patreon feed – videos and posts covering anything and everything relating to cymbals and how to make, fix, modify and think about the things.
  • …and more to be announced!

  • If you’re interested in training with me, I offer a FREE 30 minute Zoom session with no obligations, so we can talk about what you hope to achieve, and how I can help. Contact me directly to enquire about booking your free session, and check out the tiers on offer to see what’s available.
